Soldering station fume extractor/spool holder

September 25, 2011

I am probably stupid for not doing this along time ago, but I finally got around to it after many wosy nights of soldering. I used all recycled parts: old intercom for the housing, two 9v battery’s, two straps, heat shrink, a 12v dc fan( that could be upgraded due to it’s low CFM ability), a bent ground stake for the tent, junk box spst switch, and a 7812 regulator the only new item.
So I pulled the circuit board out of the intercom test fit a few things and then died the end of the stake.

I drew this quick schematic for reference.

I soldered all the connections drilled a few holes did a bit of prying to fit the filter and shrank the heat shrink. Then placed all the items inside and screwed them into place.

And here it is in all it’s glory lol. It’s really nothing special the spool of solder is actually holding it up!
